I am 100 percent for the pipeline.
The people in eastern Virginia and North Carolina will need the electricity produced by the plant in North Carolina. Otherwise, we can tell them to turn out the lights and put on sweaters.
Dominion can fuel the plant with oil, gas or coal. Coal has been proclaimed too dirty.
Oil can be brought by tank car, with its attendant risks — or, most likely by ship from the Middle East.
Gas can be brought by the pipeline.
Rather than buy oil from people who hate us, I vote for the pipeline. This is the rational alternative.
